Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 3, 2026

WozJobs Inc. ("WozJobs", "we", "us") is a software development company based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We do two things: we build software for clients as a development agency, and we build and operate our own products, including the BattleTower game and the Languido translation app.

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what your choices are. It applies to wozjobs.ca and any other websites we operate (the "Site"), to our agency services (the "Services"), and to the apps and games we publish (the "Apps"). Where an App has its own in-product privacy notice, that notice adds to this policy for that App. If anything conflicts, the more specific notice wins.

We comply with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where they apply to you, the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and U.S. state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

1. Quick summary

  • We collect only what we need to respond to you, deliver a project, or run an App.
  • We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
  • Our Site currently uses no third-party analytics or advertising cookies.
  • Languido processes speech on your device by default; audio and text leave your phone only for the cloud features you turn on.
  • BattleTower can be played without an account. An account is optional and needs only an email address.
  • You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your information at any time at admin@wozjobs.ca.

2. Information we collect

2.1 The Site (wozjobs.ca)

Contact and consultation form. When you book a consultation, we collect your name, email address, phone number and the description of your project. The form sends this to us by email and we keep it in our business mailbox so we can follow up with you. We use it only for that purpose and to run our business.

Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard technical information for every request, including your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and timestamps. We use this to keep the Site secure and working. Logs are retained for a short period by the hosting provider and are not combined with other information to identify you.

Cookies. The public Site sets no tracking cookies. A session cookie is used only on the password-protected admin area that our own staff use to manage the Site. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising pixels or social media trackers. If we add analytics in the future we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.

Social links. The Site links to our LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook pages. Those platforms collect information under their own policies once you visit them.

2.2 Agency services (clients)

When you hire us to design or build software, we may collect and process:

  • Business contact details for you and your team, such as names, roles, email addresses and phone numbers.
  • Project materials you share with us, including designs, documents, source code, and credentials for services we access on your behalf.
  • Billing information such as your company name, billing address and invoice history. Card payments, when accepted, are handled by a payment processor and we do not store card numbers.
  • End-user data that lives inside systems we build or maintain for you. For that data, you are the controller (the organization responsible under privacy law) and we act on your instructions as a processor or service provider. Our written agreement with you governs how we handle it.
  • Testimonials and case studies. With your permission, we may publish your name, photo, title, company logo and a review of our work on the Site. You can withdraw that permission at any time.

2.3 BattleTower

BattleTower is a castle-defense game for iOS, Android and the web. You can play offline and in local modes without giving us any information. Online play adds the following:

  • Player identity. A random player ID is created on your device so the ladder can recognise you. You can optionally add a display name.
  • Optional account. If you sign up, we collect your email address and send you a verification code. This lets you recover your profile on a new device and receive friend and match invitations.
  • Gameplay and rankings. Match results, your rating, tier and win/loss history, and the inputs relayed between you and your opponent during an online match. The relay server forwards those inputs live and does not keep a recording of them.
  • Friends. Your friend code, the friends you add, pending requests and your online presence, so friends can find and invite you.
  • Push notifications. If you allow notifications, a device push token from Apple or Google so we can tell you about friend requests and battle invitations. You can turn this off in your device settings.
  • Device and region. When you connect we note your platform (for example iOS or Android) and resolve your IP address to a country or region using an offline lookup. The IP address itself is discarded. We use this only for an aggregated daily activity report that helps us understand where players are.
  • Purchases. If the game offers in-app purchases, payment is handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive a confirmation of what was bought, never your payment details.

2.4 Languido

Languido is a live translator for iPhone. It is designed to run on your device: after language packs are downloaded, transcription, translation and speech work with no internet connection, and nothing is sent to us.

  • Microphone and camera. The app listens to the room to transcribe and translate speech, and can use the camera to translate text in photos. Audio is processed on the device unless you enable a cloud feature. We do not receive or store recordings.
  • Transcripts, vocabulary and phrasebook. Conversation transcripts, saved words, flashcards and phrasebook entries are stored on your device. You can delete them at any time from within the app.
  • Optional account. To use premium cloud models you can create an account with your email address, verified by a one-time code. We store your email, your credit balance and your usage history so we can bill cloud usage against your credits and show you what you have used.
  • Learn tab sync. If you sign in, your course progress is synced to our server so it follows you between devices.
  • Cloud features. When you enable a cloud tier, the text or audio needed for that feature is sent through our server to the provider that performs the work, and the provider's response comes back to your device. Our server holds the provider keys, forwards the request, and records the token count for billing. It does not keep the content of your conversations. The providers currently used are listed in section 4.
  • Purchases. Credit packs bought in the app are processed by the Apple App Store. Card payments on the web are processed by Stripe. We receive a confirmation of the purchase and never see your card details.
  • Diagnostics. If the app crashes, Apple may share an anonymised crash report with us under your iOS analytics settings.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries and provide quotes and consultations;
  • scope, deliver, support and invoice agency projects;
  • operate the Apps: matchmaking, rankings, friends, sync, accounts, credits and purchases;
  • send transactional messages such as verification codes, receipts and notifications you have opted into;
  • keep the Site, Services and Apps secure, prevent cheating and abuse, and enforce our Terms;
  • understand aggregate usage so we can improve our products;
  • meet legal, accounting and tax obligations.

We send marketing email only with your express consent and in line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every marketing message includes an unsubscribe link.

Where GDPR applies, our legal bases are performance of a contract (delivering the Services or Apps), our legitimate interests (security, product improvement, running our business), your consent (marketing, optional permissions such as microphone and notifications), and compliance with legal obligations.

4. Who we share information with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run our business, and only as far as needed:

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to the information transferred.

5. International transfers

We are based in Canada. The providers above store and process data in the United States and other countries, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. When we transfer personal information outside Canada, the EU or the UK, we rely on our providers' contractual commitments, including standard contractual clauses where required, to protect it.

6. How long we keep information

  • Contact form enquiries: as long as needed to respond and follow up, then deleted or retained as part of our business records if you become a client.
  • Client project data: for the length of the engagement and as required by our agreement with you, then returned or deleted. Accounting records are kept for seven years as required by Canadian tax law.
  • App accounts: until you delete your account or ask us to. Inactive BattleTower identities that were never linked to an email may be removed after extended inactivity.
  • Rankings and match history: kept while your account exists, because a ladder depends on its history. Deleted with your account.
  • Languido usage history: kept while your account exists so you can see how credits were spent.
  • Server logs: a short rolling window set by our hosting provider.

7. Your rights and choices

Wherever you live, you can:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you and ask how it has been used and shared.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Delete your account and associated information. BattleTower and Languido both let you delete your account from inside the app, and you can also email us.
  • Withdraw consent for optional processing such as marketing email, push notifications, or microphone and camera access, using your device or app settings.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, and port your data, where GDPR applies.
  • Complain to a regulator. In Canada that is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. EU and UK residents may contact their local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email admin@wozjobs.ca. We will verify your identity, usually by confirming control of the email address on the account, and respond within 30 days. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

California residents: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we have not done so in the preceding 12 months.

8. Security

We protect personal information with measures appropriate to its sensitivity, including encryption in transit (HTTPS and secure WebSockets), hashed passwords, access limited to staff who need it, and hosting with providers that maintain recognised security certifications. BattleTower's relay server runs no game logic and holds no gameplay recordings. Languido keeps session tokens in the iOS Keychain and processes speech on-device by default. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify you and the relevant authorities of a breach as the law requires.

9. Children

Our Site and Services are aimed at businesses. Our Apps are not directed at children under 13, and account creation requires that you be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent where you live, if higher). BattleTower can be played without an account and without providing any personal information. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without appropriate consent, we will delete it. Parents and guardians can contact us at the address below.

10. Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your personal information, we will give notice in the affected App or by email before it takes effect.
